Adu oru plate" (that one plate), "Idu Enna"(Whats this), “Ok idhu oru plate” (this one place), “Innu koncha fish curry” (And some fish curry).  The Hotel guy is totally confused by Satish's eating habit. By now I have already completed my vegetarian lunch with only few option available and have scribbling down what we did from morning.

We found a nice dark place to settle down with Shakila last night in Calicut beach. After learning from our past experience, we did not put our tent there and just used sleeping mat and sleeping bag. Since we were tired and had an awesome dinner it didn't take us much time to dream. It was pitch dark and we could hear the beach sound quite loud and clear. Except mosquito it was all pleasant there.

Wake up re, see this amazing view” … both tired body never missed to see the fantastic view of the moon set. The moon was so big and the bright path it created over the waves of the sea was welcoming for us to walk into the sea.  Not sure, if we can get such another scene again in our life and we regret all our life for being so tired not capturing this moment in our third eye. More than me Satish is literally pissed of not taking advantage of that moment as a night photographer.

It was at around 6:30 AM both of us woke in shock to see the beach was already crowded by many joggers. In a distance we saw people practicing yoga, coaching for women football team, beach volley ball being played. We did quickly packed up the things, though not much was removed out of  Shakila last night. A cyclist approached us and we exchanged some experience with him. He was also a bulletier and had travelled many places across india. He was there with his canondale bike. Satish asked him “Oh nice, you ride canaondale”, he replied no “Normal Normal”.  We quickly waved him off and started towards the same hotel at AG street for breakfast, as it was proven good for last night dinner. We had a heavy break fast. The cyclist had informed us about the “Hotel Rahmath” which is very famous for Biriyani. We were able to relate the crowd we had seen last night at that hotel. Any one travelling to Calicut, don’t miss these two restaurants, “Hotel and Restaurant” and “Hotel Rehmath” at AG road.

Very Good Hotel
We started towards Kasargod. One pit stop we had planned was at Thalassery. It is around 70 KM from Calicut. I had been here in 1999, during my engineering days driving my “Hero Ranger Swing” bike from Mysore. Though I don’t remember the exact place, but I knew it was a very nice beach.

While Shakila was very happy with the full tank gas, we also utilized that moment to get freshen up at the same gas station. We reached Mahe (Puducherry) in no time, the place we had decided to celebrate our new year. As Mahe comes under union territory, alcohol was too cheap and we bagged four cans of bear. Mahe can be described as "street full of alcohol shops".

Proceeding further we just took diversion of the main road to explore a bit more of the Malabar region. We saw a bridge and took left towards the beach side. We were driving between the village to reach a place where we could see both river and the sea, the delta.

After sometime on the way we took a short deviation from the main road to get in to Muzhappilangad Beach, Thalassery. The 5 KM long driving beach just took all our frustration out of those hot and humid climate. The beach looked amazing and I was very happy to drive inside the beach, as it was the first time. We covered the entire beach on Shakila and stopped at one edge to take some pics. It was few experiments, we did to get some nice frames. We reached this road side restaurant having a banner of Kerala meals served on banana leaf . It was so good picture, we could not stop our self to enter.  Though it was a very simple lunch for me, Satish is having a feast here.

David Agnejo and his girl friend were amazing. We had a very long chat and it was so informative.  While Satish is getting the things out of the bike to prepare our bed for tonight, I am in full mood of writing out experience.

After the heavy lunch Satish started riding for some time. He was feeling sleepy and handed over the bike to me. Usually it used to be other way always. I could feel the wheel wobble at some time and we decided to sleep for a while. We ended up at a tender coconut shop, sipping the first one and slept for around 15 minutes. After the second one, we were completely energized to continue further. We reached Bekal Fort by 4:30 PM. As 5:30 PM was the closing time, we quickly rushed inside the fort. They didn’t allow us to carry the tripod as per the rules of Archaeological survey of India. They have made lot of development inside Bekal Fort by creating a mini park. It looked totally different, an artificial one, compared to what I had seen when I came for my friend's marriage. They have recently constructed the steps to climb up and down to reach the view point. Though its very helpful from the tourist point of view, the fort didn't look authentic.

Though the intention of fort with beach long exposure didn't work out well, we got some amazing silhouettes. The fort wasn’t big enough to give the fort feel in the silhouette. By that time we had decided to stay at the beach for tonight. While heading back to vehicle we found this couple heading back to their hotel nearby.  It all started with a smile.  I just smiled at David Agenjo and a warm smile back from him gave me more confidence to talk to him.  They were Spanish couple who were travelling across India. David is currently working at Mumbai and his girlfriend Daphne is doing some kind of a research on Ayurveda treatments in Kerala. David joined Daphne for a holiday trip across Kerala. We had a nice chat about our travel experience in Kerala and they also took some advice to make their trip memorable.

This Spanish couple had a tragedy last night. They convinced one of the local boat guy to take them for a ride inside the beach.  Boat guy agreed and it was 30 meters inside the sea a big wave put them down into the water.  What a terrific experience !!!!!. While Satish was explaining the route map, David suggested for high tea. It was our pleasure and I drove down to the city, while Satish started walking along with the couple.  We reached the tea shop and exchanged our travel experience with them. We also gave them couple of contacts and some information we had gathered. Daphne had compulsion of visiting Hampi, hence their plan was getting little complicated and we left it to the couple to decide what route would be best for them.

We decided to have dinner together and headed towards the apple restaurant near Bekal Fort. We discussed a lot of things over the dinner table. One particular topic was about Indian marriages. Daphne was at Mahe for quite some to do her research on Ayurveda and she had gathered some knowledge about the Indian culture and even had attended couple of marriages . She got lot of her questions clarified about Indian marriages from us. I asked David how it happens in their country. There is only one marriage and its obviously love marriage. We could see lot of cultural difference between us, but the travel bonded us together very well. While David and Satish opted for non vegetarian food, Daphne and myself settled down for vegetarian. Finally for the whole trip, I had a company to eat vegetarian food. After the dinner, we waved them off to reach the beach.  As usual we didn’t want to let Shakila stay far away and struggled a bit to drag it in side the sand for 100 meters. We had settled down sipping our beer. Let me not mix the drink with writing anymore. Good night!!!
